Project 11- Brimwood Blvd. Junior Public School

151 Brimwood Blvd, Scarborough, ON M1V – October 8, 2023

(L-R) Linda, Tanja, Susan, Sophie and Sayeh

If you have been following this blog, you are probably familiar with Brimwood Blvd JPS and the amazing teachers that are engaging children in the resurrected native plant garden there. A native plant garden had been started in the grounds next to the school by a dedicated teacher decades ago and our group is in the second year of working to revitalize it.

On October 8th, Sophie, Linda and I loaded up a carload of native plants grown from seed by our group and went to deliver them to Susan and Tanja at Brimwood Blvd PS. The plan was to have the school children plant them, so our group spent the next two hours preparing the garden beds by removing invasives and digging the soil so the children would be able to easily do the plantings.

Here are some of the pictures sent in from the planting process. The garden is shaping nicely and we are looking forward to continuing this beautiful partnership with the school.
